The Academy of Figurative Art was founded with the purpose of equipping studentswith the tools required for representational painting. The program enables its students to reach a very high technical level in this style. The guiding philosophy ascribes supreme importance to the direct observation of nature and its description in painting. The school operates in a spacious studio with a window that provides steadynatural northern light. It includes a coffee corner and a florentine.jpglibrary, where studentsmeet in the course of the day. The students work uninterruptedfrom 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, engaging in painting and drawing still lifes, classic sculpture, live models and portraits. The curriculum is designed in stages,so that the learners progress at the right pace for each individual, moving fromone stage to the next as they are ready. The exercises are built in sequence, with the aim of learning to create representational art.Attention is placed on learning and understanding all essential stages, from a quick sketchto the finished painting. The school provides its students with personal attention and focuses on the specificstage of progress of each individual.Open dialogue, support and encouraging each student to realize his or her personalpotential and uniquecapabilities are fundamental aspects of the school.Image  The school draws its inspiration from contemporary academic programs throughoutthe world that concentrate on representational art, as it has developed sincethe Renaissance period in Italy. The studio is located in a particularly beautiful area, at Kibbutz Hagoshrim in the northern Hula Valley, surrounded by lush greenery, near the Dan and Banyas rivers, and between thesnowcapped Hermon Mountain to the east and the green Naftali Hills to the west. The school is known for its special atmosphere, the spacious studio that allowsstudents space to work comfortably, inspiration, mutual fertilization and an exciting process,

at the end of which every student can express his or her artistic ideas in painting.
